Besucherhügel (visitor mound)
The purpose-built spotting hill between the two runways — an official facility, not a tolerated fence. Elevated view over both 08L/26R and 08R/26L, with the terminals in between. Nothing else in Germany makes spotting this easy.

- Besucherpark, Nordallee 5. S-Bahn S1/S8 to Besucherpark station, then a 5-minute walk. Large paid car park on site.
- Best time
- All day thanks to the elevation. Morning suits the northern runway, late afternoon the southern one.

- 300–600 mm — the mound sits a fair way from both runways.
Northern runway fence (08L/26R)
Field paths along the northern perimeter put you level with aircraft on short final. Quieter than the visitor mound and the better option when the north runway is landing.

- Along Nordallee towards Schwaig; cycling from Besucherpark takes about 15 minutes. Park considerately in Schwaig — the field tracks are farm access.

Covered view over the apron and Lufthansa's home base — the weather-proof option and the best place to work through registrations rather than chase individual movements.
