Playa de la Tejita
The beach under the RWY 08 approach, with Montaña Roja as a backdrop. Arrivals come in low over the sand and you get the red cinder cone in frame — the shot that makes TFS worth the drive rather than just another charter field.

Walk up the red hill for the elevated view over the whole field. Higher angle, ocean behind, and you can see which way the traffic is running before you commit to a spot. Bring water — there is no shade on the way up.
El Médano side (RWY 26 threshold)
The eastern end near El Médano puts you under the numbers when 26 is active. Windy — this is Tenerife's kitesurfing coast, which is exactly why the runway usually runs this way. Long lens, and mind the sand in your gear.

No hike, no car needed: the public areas give you the apron and taxiways for logging registrations between arrival banks. Modest photography, but the easiest start if you've just landed yourself.

What you'll see
TFS is a holiday machine: Ryanair, Jet2, TUI, easyJet, Condor, Eurowings and Wizz all day, with British and German tails dominating the board. Binter Canarias adds the local flavour — ATR 72s and E195-E2s island-hopping to La Palma, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, the props being the only reliable non-jet movements. Long-haul is thin and therefore worth catching: Air Canada starts the only North American service in late 2026, after United's Newark route ended in May 2025. Roughly 70,000 movements a year through a single runway.
